Weekend Happenings...

Hot Doggett 100 & Devil's Fork Metric is happening on Saturday, July 10. This is an awesome challenging ride through some of the most scenic and lightly traveled roads in Madison County!

All you triathletes...don't forget XTerra Whitewater in Charlotte on Sunday, July 11.

The Highland Games (Fri-Sun, July 9-11) near Linville, NC offer The Grizzly Metric Century and One of the Toughest Marathons.

For the runners out there...south of town is the Coon Dog Day Run on Saturday, July 10th.

For any new cyclists looking for an easy road ride geared towards beginners Joe from the Blue Ridge Bits is hosting a Novice Ride in Etowah. Message from Joe:

"I will be leading a road bike ride that is specifically geared toward novice riders. This means that the ride pace will be slow enough to accommodate the newest rider. Experienced riders are encouraged to come out and help to show the new folks why we love this activity so much.

We'll be leaving from the Ingles in Etowah at 9 AM and doing the 23 mile Etowah Loop. Please see the attached cue sheet. I will be at Ingles at 8:30 for those that want a little extra time or advice on getting ready. For those that want more of a workout I'll be doing the loop a second time at the regular Tuesday pace.

So that I know how many to expect, please respond and let me know if you are a new rider or an experienced rider that wants to help.

For those that are interested, Blue Ridge Pizza is near Ingles and would welcome the riders for lunch.

Thanks,
Joe "
